Office Bombshell
“There are all sorts of challenges thrown at her,” says Christina Hendricks of her character, sexy office manager Joan Holloway. “Horrific things. And she consistently pulls it together, cleans it up and moves forward. Sometimes she’s walking through mud, but she does it.”

Christina Hendricks: 2010 Emmy Awards
Published on August 30th, 2010 by Flo & Filed in Appearance & Events,Awards & Nominations,Gallery,Mad Men,Multimedia. Comments Off

Christina Hendricks was nominated in the “Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series” category at the 2010 Emmy Awards last night (August 29).

Sadly she lost to Archie Panjabi from “The Good Wife” but she was true to form by showing her enviable curves wearing a gorgeous Zac Posen Resort 2011 gown on the red carpet.

Also congratulations to the cast and crew of Mad Men for winning their third-in-a-row Emmy for Oustanding Drama Series!

Christina Hendricks on the cover of “Capitol File”
Published on August 27th, 2010 by Flo & Filed in Gallery,Magazines Coverage. Comments Off

Christina Hendricks is featured on the cover of Capitol File’s Fall Fashion 2010 issue.

Here’s an extract from the interview:

On going against her agents’ advice and taking a role on Mad Men : “By that point I had been in four different series and done a lot of guest-star spots on things and none of them went as I thought they were going to. So I did the thing that I wanted to do. I’m glad that I didn’t let people bully me into something that would have been about a larger network or more money. I just kind of trusted my gut.”

On attending the SAGs after taking media criticism at the Golden Globes: “In every photo there’s this look of fear on my face. A week earlier I had been so happy and felt so gorgeous and everyone said such mean things to me, so I had this concerned look.”

On staying true to what matters: “I’m really trying to remain true to myself. But on occasion, my stylist will go, ‘Absolutely not. You will get killed.’ I always go back to the stuff I love. Hopefully, people will see who I am and accept it.”

Emmy Awards 2010: Dress Predictions for Christina Hendricks
Published on August 27th, 2010 by Flo & Filed in Articles and Interviews,Awards & Nominations. Comments Off

Let’s get real here. We don’t watch the Emmy Awards so we can groan at the presenters’ scripted banter or contemplate the popularity of “Two and a Half Men.” It’s the dresses, stupid!

And since we’ve still got time before our favorite small-screen sirens hit the red carpet on Aug. 29, we’ve decided to whip out our crystal ball and handicap what we suspect they’ll wear.

Only they and their stylists know for sure what’s coming out of the closet on the big night, but it doesn’t hurt to do a little detective work.

Judging by “Mad Men” actress Christina Hendricks‘s previous Emmy gowns, we can expect plenty of curves and an intense hue. In 2008, she flaunted her highly praised curvaceous figure in a plunging emerald green Tadashi Shoji, while 2009 saw her in a fitted midnight blue L’Wren Scott (who also designed her blue Met ball gown).

A safe bet is that the Best Supporting Actress in a Drama nominee will turn up in a creation from “Project Runway” winner Christian Siriano, who designed her peach organza Golden Globes frock and the ruffled black gown she wore to last week’s Creative Arts Emmys.

But given the fact that she just wore Siriano and might be wary of wearing a Scott gown at back-to-back Emmy ceremonies, we suspect Hendricks might pull out a surprise showstopper, similar to the red one-shoulder Carolina Herrera gown she wore to this year’s SAG Awards.

Christina Hendricks Named Celebrity Spokesmodel for “London Fog”
Published on August 26th, 2010 by Flo & Filed in Gallery,Multimedia,News and Rumours,Other Projects. Comments Off

Mad Men” star Christina Hendricks has been tapped to be the celebrity model in the fall campaign for outerwear company London Fog.

The ads, shot by Nino Munoz, will feature Hendricks in several looks, including a leopard print trench coat, and will appear in magazines including Elle, Cosmopolitan and InStyle starting in October!

The Emmy-nominated actress said she was thrilled to be a part of the campaign.

London Fog is a classic brand, which I love. It also ties into ‘Mad Men’ — we used London Fog in the show and this was a nice way to tie everything together,” Hendricks said. “The trench is such an iconic shape for men and women. It worked in the 1960s and it works now.”

Former London Fog celebrity spokespeople include Gisele Bundchen, Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria and Tony Parker.

The collaboration follows a whirlwind year for Hendricks that included earning the title of “sexiest woman alive” by Esquire magazine.

Causing a bit of controversy (as some thought it showed too much favoritism), Christina Hendricks joined Emmy host Jimmy Fallon for some promotional videos. Enjoy!
