Christina Hendricks was born May 3, 1975 in Knoxville, Tennessee. She however grew up in Twin Falls, Idaho.

When Christina was 13, her family moved and settled in Fairfax, Virginia where she became involved in various high school plays and community theater productions.

During her teens, Christina started to appear on television, and soon bagged a role in the show “Beggars and Chasers.” Christina later worked on guest roles in shows such as “The Big Time,” “The Court,” “ER” and “Firefly.” Christina also became known for her notable appearances in “Miss Match,” “Kevin Hill,” “Angel,” “Tru Calling,” “Las Vegas” and “Without a Trace.”

Christina landed a role on the movie “South of Pico,” where she starred alongside actor Kip Pardue. Christina also gave a remarkable performance in the NBC TV show “Life,” where she played the role of Olivia, the fiancée of Ted Earley and the future stepmother of detective Charlie Crews.

However, it was only in 2008 that Christina became a household name when she starred as Joan Halloway in the award-winning cable series “Mad Men.” The series is set in the early 1960s New York, where the advertising world was beginning to be a hit. Christina’s role as Joan Halloway allowed her to become a dominatrix, at least to show how women can deal with the macho males of their generation.

Thanks to her impressive acting skills, Christina became a recipient of various awards and nominations from various institutions, including a 2006 SyFy Genre Award for Best Special Guest/Television for her role in “Firefly,” a 2008 SAG nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series for “Mad Men” and eventually won that award with her co-stars in 2009. Also in 2009, Christina was hailed as Best Actress in a Drama Series at the Monte-Carlo TV Festival.

Regarding her personal life, Christina wed fellow actor Geoffrey Arend on October 11, 2009.
